and we began our hike into the canyon, 6 miles later we put up our tent and called it a day due to yet another rain storm. After Tyler fell asleep at 10:30 I was left awake to listen for the bears. After about 1/2 hour I gave up and went to sleep. The next morning Tyler woke up at 5:30 and at 7:00 went to take some pictures. So excited about the awesome fog that was completely covering the area he came to wake me. I not being so excited about being awake didn't take to well to him wanting me up and out of bed to watch the fog roll out of the valley. After few minutes I was up and out of bed only to find out that I had missed the whole show. We cleaned up camp and started on our journey further into the canyon, passing many waterfalls and streams along the way an hour later I was soaking wet and at the end of my trail. Ready to be dry we turned around and headed back! And that was my first over night back packing trip, I carried my bag the entire way (20 pounds) and walked 14 miles at least. Now I am so sore that I decided to take it easy for awhile. Needless to say I am pretty proud of myself !

The fog show really was cool! It was all sitting there when I got up, and all the sudden it started flowing out like a giant river and then all puddled up at the end of the valley. Scarlet gave me alot of grief for being so excited. It was amazing! -Tyler
